BE A PART OF THE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE WITH OWP
The focus on plastic pollution, climate changes, and the environment has only grown bigger during the last years. As a company specialized in developing innovative packaging solutions, we want to drive the change needed to achieve a more sustainable future for both the environment and the packaging industry.
VIRGIN PLASTIC VS. OWP
Reduce up to 73% of your carbon dioxide emissions with OWP recycled plastic compared to virgin plastic
When moving into OWP you are not only cleaning oceans and rivers from plastic, you are actively minimizing the need for virgin plastic. By using recycled plastic (the raw material of OWP is conventional PCR material with the benefit that it removes plastic from ocean/rivers 1:1), you minimize the usage of fuel production and consumption, which normally account for the majority of carbon dioxide emissions when producing virgin plastic. This can result in at least a 50% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions, and as the highest 73% less carbon dioxide emission when using recycled plastic instead of virgin.
When using OWP compared to virgin materials massive CO2 savings are realized
YEC International study, March 2021: Environmental Impact: Production of recycled plastic compares to virgin plastic.
Why is it important to use OWP?
Besides reducing the carbon footprint, recycled plastic has other great benefits as well.
eco-system and animal life
PCR can help protect our eco-system as it reduces the need to harvest from the Earth. When we recycle plastic and other materials, we help prevent it from entering into the ocean and landfills. The less plastic that enters our oceans and landfills, the more animals will be saved and stay unharmed. 3
Recycled plastic requires a lot less energy under production than virgin plastic, which can result in less CO2 emissions. A study show that using a ton of PET plastic containers made of recycled plastic saves around 5.774 kilowatt-hours.1
1. It is important to notice that these numbers are individual and depend on the material, the transport, production and size of the products. https://lbre.stanford.edu/pssistanford-recycling/frequently-asked-questions/frequently-asked-questions-benefits-recycling
seek sustainable solutions
Research shows that consumers seek sustainable packagaing and goods, but that majority feel that brands makes it harder for them to choose sustainable goods.4 Help them make the choice easier with the OWP-concept, and help us remove plastic from the ocean and get your packaging produced in PCR.
Are you not a part of the concept yet?
