PLASTIC TYPES

PP (Polypropylene)

Polypropylene is the second-most widely produced plastic, and the market for PP is forecasted to cross over 75 million tons by 2022. Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic made from the combination of propylene monomers, and its properties are similar to polyethylene. Compared to polyethylene is polypropylene harder and more heat resistant. Polypropylene is a relatively dense material which is often used for components that serves to assemble other components, or where there is a requirement for the material to be solid. This can be products like e.g. jars for face cream or screw caps for bottles.

What type of PP is primarily collected from the oceans?

The PP material typically collected from the oceans for our OWP is primarily plastic containers and bottle caps.

What colors can PP

material be made in?

PP can be made in ocean white, or be colored to the customer’s specifications.
