The worldwide production of PET is around 30 million, and with bottle production accounting for more than 30% of global demand. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is a strong, rigid synthetic fiber and resin and a member of the polyester family of polymers. PET is often used for bottles and containers, where the product inside requires less to none air penetrating via the packaging.

 

What type of PET is primarily collected from the oceans?

The type of PET material most often collected from the oceans for our OWP is bottles for water and soft drinks.
