OWP PLASTIC TYPES

PE (Polyethylene)

PLASTIC TYPES

PE (Polyethylene)

Polyethylene (PE) is the most common plastic, and is produced in over 100 million tons annually and accounts for 34% of the total plastic production. Polyethylene (PE) is a thermoplastic polymer with an extremely large range of applications depending on the particular type.

What type of PE is primarily collected from the oceans?

Polyethylene is our softest type of OWP material. It is often used for products like drinking bottles, shampoo bottles or other components where the packaging needs flexibility. The PE material that is usually collected from the oceans to use for OWP is e.g. plastic containers and plastic bags.

What colors can PE

material be made in?

PE can be made in three variations of colors: semi-transparent, ocean white, or it can be colored to the customer’s specifications.

We try to find new ways to achieve a more sustainable future for both the environment and the packaging industry. OWP (Ocean Waste Plastic) is one of them.
